Beyond Cancer - Online!
Yoga for Health Institute created “Beyond Cancer – Healing the Whole Being”, an online yoga intensive program designed specifically to follow cancer treatments. We provide cancer patients with insightful knowledge, along with the tools and techniques needed to recover from the emotional and physical side effects of cancer treatment. Throughout the 5 week therapeutic yogic practices, we work to educate and empower our clients to connect and experience their own healing power so that they can regain a sense of control and balance, recovering the mind, body and spirit. Unlike other programs which use pre-recorded sessions, this program is facilitated in live session by certified yoga therapists with the emphasis on individual needs.

We have identified a big gap in the cancer health care systems around the world. Cancer patients typically undergo months or years of treatments, which often result in severe side effects such as tension, pain, neuropathy, physical fatigue, cognitive dysfunction (brain fog), depression, mental confusion and loss of short-term memory. Once a patient completes the treatment, doctors often explain that they have done all they could and offer no further support. Unfortunately, over 80% of patients suffer from severe side effects after ending their treatments and are left without any support.
Our intensive online program is based on yogic science, which helps patients manage their diseases and symptoms. We introduce practices such as, breath management techniques (pranayama), meditation, chanting, mudras and bandhas (yogic locks), deep relaxation of Yoga Nidra, yogic postures (asanas), and implement these into patient’s daily routines. The end result – spark in the eye and spring into the steps are back! You will feel MUCH better – this is our promise to you.

After running the residential retreats Beyond Cancer for 7 years we now converted them to an online 5 week long programs which you can experience in the comfort of your own home. Unlike other programs which play pre-recorded sessions all our classes are conducted live by experienced yoga therapists. The group is small so that we can pay individual attention to every person and tailor the details of program to discreet needs of each participant. We also do tests after each week so clients can monitor their own progress.
Join us online for the experience of a lifetime – in the comfort of your own home!
Program Structure
Week One
Week one encompasses the Introduction and practices of yogic techniques: pranayama, meditation, restorative yoga with mudras, asanas, Yoga Nidra and chanting. We chose specific research-evidenced practices that will be experienced both on a practical level and through lectures on anatomy and the physiology of yoga.
Weeks Two and Four
During weeks two and four participants practice what they learned in previous weeks. The instructions and materials will be provided to ensure safe and consistent experience. During the practice weeks participants will be able to access facilitators for a live consultation in case of the doubts or questions.
During week five we introduce Life Mandala – a meditative and deeply introspective process of re-examining the core belief system and reconnecting with one’s heart desires. We create a road map for the next 12 months of where we want to go and how we want to get there. (In residential retreats this is also a week of review and preparation for returning home. Based on their progress during the retreat, patients are given “take-home” individualized yoga exercises, to practice on their own under the teacher’s supervision.).

About Harry
Harry came to us two days before the opening of the program, referred by my friend, a medical doctor. A quiet man from Canada with stage four lymphoma, he had just finished chemotherapy…
Jyotsna's story
Jyotsna came to us for the Rejuvenation for Cancer Patients Program in March 2015. A 35-year-old Indian homemaker from Delhi, she was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 33.
“I attended the three week Rejuvenation Retreat for Cancer Patients conducted by Lee Majewski in October 2016 in India. This program is based on the practices and philosophy of Yoga. The retreat is very intense and had a very positive impact on all participants. It helped me to get over my emotional stresses and I came back physically recharged and with a lot of positive energy. Being healthy requires not only physical fitness but also a healthy mind and emotional well-being. Lee has a very good knowledge of yoga practices. She uses techniques like meditation and Yoga Nidra to delve into the psyche of the participants. Using specific interventions, she is able to bring out the suppressed negative emotions, which accumulate during the cancer treatments. She then helped participants to unburden these negative feelings and effectively get over them. Her capacity to understand the human mind and handling the emotions is excellent. She is truly a committed professional who understands the needs and emotions of people who have been through the trauma of cancer.”
